Windgate is a great community located just a few blocks from the Shirlington shops area- the community has a rich look to it being all brick construction - the nearby Fairlington community is all brick but they are much older units- Windgate is condominium ownership and there are both one level condos and two or three level townhouses in the community- Windgate boasts tennis courts and pools and allows you to get to DC, Old Town and National Airport in 15 minutes with Shirley Highway (395) very close by - parking can be a bit of a challenge sometimes depending upon where you are located in the community - Shirlington is a very up and coming area with a lot of more expensive luxury condos being built and lots of new shopping and restaurants opening every day it seems

It is a wonderful neighborhood. Close to major areas, including easy access to 395. Yet, it has a small community feeling. There are restaurants that literally fit everyone's taste from Chinese and Italian to Japaneese and Mexican, just a great place.
