Comments about Capitol Hill

Capitol Hill (Submitted by LFC)

Capitol Hill has auto accessibility (minutes from MD or VA on the SE/SW Freeway and 295/395), several metro stops on blue orange and red lines, neat stores, and friendly neighbors. Many families here send their kids to the local public schools (and have had good experiences in the DC Public School systems), so there is much socializing around school activities (such as progressive dinners, etc.). Kids sports are big, with soccer, baseball and other leagues for the kids to participate in. Eastern Market is a big draw on the weekends.

Capitol Hill/Eastern Market (Submitted by EV)

The Eastern Market community is an extremely vibrant, urban environment. The renovation of 8th street has brought in numerous new restaurants andhas made a very positive impression on the neighborhood. Eastern Market itself is a great place to purchase fresh fish, meat, vegetables, pastries, flowers. Safeway has recently upgraded its store in anticipation of the new Harris Teeter that should be open in the coming months. The neighbors are very friendly, and there are an abundance of dog lovers in the area.
