Pimmit Hills (Submitted by SMW)
My folks bought their Pimmit Hills house in 1979. I bought it from them last year. There has been a lot of change in all that time!
The neighborhood is very quiet, with a healthy mix of people who've lived here for decades and new immigrants. Elementary school kids assigned to Lemon Road can get to school entirely on wide sidewalks, with a crossing guard on the one road where traffic tends to be. Marshall High School (where I graduated with my freshman year of college completed, thanks to a great slate of AP courses) is also within walking distance - your teen doesn't need a car to have a very active social life. The best regional library in the county, Tysons-Pimmit, is an easy walk from every house in the subdivision.
There is a Whole Food's and a Trader Joe's on the west side of the subdivision, and a Safeway to the northeast.
There's a gas/car repair station that does excellent work behind the Trader Joe's.
Some nights it seems like everyone has a dog and is taking it for a walk.
The only thing missing? Used to be every little park - and there are three within the neighborhood, five if you count Lemon Road and the Tysons Pimmit Library park - was just filled with little kids. Young families are beginning to cycle back in, though. Certainly Halloween saw the streets teeming with kids!
Some parts of the neighborhood are VERY neighborly, with everyone being very close. Others can go years without much interaction. It totally depends on the block.
Welcome to a great place to grow up!

Holly Crest (Submitted by SDF)
We have lived here from the beginning, 12 years, and have always enjoyed our neighbors and the closeness that comes with knowing each other. The group has evolved with the arrival and growing up of children, and as the trees filled in, so did our families and friendships. I highly recommend our neighborhood not only for the social aspect, but for the beautfy and quality of the homes. We have had no big problems in terms of repairs, only maintenance.
