This is a very family oriented and friendly neighborhood. The emneties are excellent - includes gyms, pools, tennis courts, etc. Neighbors take excellent care of their homes and yards, and are always willing to lend a hand to help.

Loews Island (Submitted by MS)

Loews Island is a newer neighborhood within Cascades of Potomac Falls (previously part of Sterling). Loews Island is a golf course community with several homes located close to and overlooking Loews Island golf course. The homes are a mix of single family colonials and town houses in a well designed community that includes a top notch elementary school (Loews Island Elementary), several public parks for the kids to play and its own community pool. Virtually all of the families in the community have school age kids. A supermarket and convenience stores are located at the entrance to Loews Island (walking distance for almost everyone). The Dulles Town Center is a few miles away and includes the usual mall stores. Overall, the community is a great place to raise kids. Schools are excellent, with lots of parent participation. Sports programs abound. Our kids have especially enjoyed Tae Kwan Do, Soccer, Baseball and Lacrosse. The members of the community are fairly diverse. The best way I can describe it is to imagine what Fairfax County was like 30 years ago with great new schools, no crime and great community services--that is what eastern Loudoun County and in particular Loews Island is like now.
