Kemp Mill Estates (Submitted by EJC)
It's a fantastic neighborhood. Kemp Mill Elementary is an outstanding school. The neighborhood is close to Wheaton Regional Park, with several entrances to the trails right in the neighborhood. The Kemp Mill Swim Club is fabulous -- roomy, with nice blue water and lots of trees. It's like being on vacation without leaving home. Wheaton Metro Station is a short drive away as are a variety of ethnic restaurants and shopping.

Forest Estates (Submitted by ECL)
Forest Estates is a quiet but extremely friendly residential neighborhood. There is a very active neighborhood list serve and people generally seem to know each other and interact quite a bit. There are lots of kids of all ages, as well as a lot of original owners. There's a great little park with a playground and the neighborhood also runs along side Sligo Creek park, which has a fantastic path for walking, running, biking, etc. There are no shops commercial establishments in the neighborhood itself, but it's not far from the section of Georgia Avenue by the beltway which has some. It's also a short drive from downtown Silver Spring and Wheaton (it's right inbetween the two), each of which has many restaurants, shops, etc. It is walking distance from the Forest Glen metro station. It's a perfect location if you want a quiet, friendly suburban feel but still be close to commercial areas and Metro.
